“Addis Ababa E-mobility Association” Officially Registered

The Addis Ababa E-mobility Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the adoption of electric mobility solutions in Addis Ababa. We aim to enhance environmental sustainability, create jobs, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

Membership is open to businesses and organizations that are committed to supporting e-mobility in Addis Ababa in a tangible way. You can join by filling out the membership form on our website and fulfilling the membership requirements.

We offer several key categories of membership, each with specific requirements:

1. Job Creation with E-mobility: For organizations focused on creating jobs and workforce development in the e-mobility sector.

   • Requirement: Must have created at least 100 new jobs in the e-mobility sector in the last 12 months or commit to creating at least 100 new jobs in the next 12 months. Membership status will be temporary during this commitment period until the requirement is achieved.

2. E-mobility Infrastructure Provider: For companies developing and maintaining infrastructure such as charging stations and battery swapping facilities.

   • Requirement: Must have installed or maintained at least 30 charging stations or battery swapping facilities in the last 12 months or commit to installing at least 30 in the next 12 months. Membership status will be temporary during this commitment period until the requirement is achieved.

3. E-mobility Finance Provider: For financial institutions supporting the financing of e-mobility solutions.

   • Requirement: Must have provided financing for at least 100 e-mobility vehicle purchases in the last 12 months or commit to providing financing for at least 100 in the next 12 months. Membership status will be temporary during this commitment period until the requirement is achieved.

4. E-mobility Manufacturer and Distributor: For businesses manufacturing and distributing electric vehicles and related components.

   • Requirement: Must have manufactured or distributed at least 1000 electric vehicles in the last 12 months or commit to manufacturing or distributing at least 1000 in the next 12 months. Membership status will be temporary during this commitment period until the requirement is achieved.

5. E-mobility Service Providers: For businesses offering services related to e-mobility, such as maintenance, repair, software solutions, and after-sales support.

   • Requirement: Must have serviced or repaired at least 1000 electric vehicles, or developed and deployed software solutions for at least 1000 clients in the last 12 months or commit to doing so in the next 12 months. Membership status will be temporary during this commitment period until the requirement is achieved.

Members enjoy various benefits, including access to exclusive events and workshops, networking opportunities with industry leaders, updates on the latest e-mobility developments, and a platform to contribute to policy advocacy and public awareness campaigns.

We are currently working on several initiatives, including public awareness campaigns, policy advocacy, and partnerships with local and international stakeholders to promote e-mobility in Addis Ababa.

E-mobility helps reduce air pollution, decrease greenhouse gas emissions, and lower noise pollution. It also contributes to energy security by reducing dependence on fossil fuels and promotes the use of renewable energy sources.
